As much as it sometimes pains me to keep purchasing the latest and greatest software that comes out, GAS takes on a new form in software acquisition syndrome. I have all of the noise reduction options that are out there. The problem that I experienced with going straight to PAI was the inconsistency in the noise reduction that left patches of the image filled with untreated noise and areas with fine regular detail completely obliterated. PureRaw does the heavy lifting for the NR and then a pass thru PAI does help eliminate some of the noise/ lack of smoothness in skin tone areas while helping to add some detail back to the faces.
